The New Mexico Society of Hazardous Materials Managers (NMSHMM) was formed in 1998 as the marriage of two parent organizations, the former New Mexico Hazardous Waste Management Society (NMHWMS) and the Roadrunner Chapter of the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM).

This web site is organized into two main areas. The first contains general information about our chapter and activities. The second area presents information organized based on our Committee structure. In some cases, material is presented in both areas to make it easier to locate the information you need.

The Academy (ACHMM) is the membership arm of the organization and provides member services, chapter information, and professional directory information. The Institute (IHMM) is the accrediting arm of the organization, and is charged with administering and maintaining the certification of CHMMs.
